We love seeing new faces, and if it is your first time thinking about doing yoga, you have come to the right place.
“You are never too late, never too old, never too sick to start from scratch one again”
For your first class you will need a
yoga mat : make sure it is not too spongy / foam like, is long enough for you and does not have holes!. You will also need a
long towel
to cover your entire mat, you will sweat! We have mats and towels to rent in the studio. Bring some still
water
with you - no fizzy drinks, coloured drinks or hot drinks!
Hydrate
with water throughout the day before your class: no need to go overboard, in general it’s good to keep your body well hydrated! We sell water in tetra packs and also sell DCHY water bottles (help us get rid of single use plastics!). It is best to practice on an empty stomach so no big meals 2/3 hours before. If you are practising first thing in the morning, drink some water and even some juice if you are prone to low sugar levels.
Dress lightly.
Short/ leggings and a sports top. Men can go topless. No socks.
We have changing rooms with showers and hair dryers. While normally they are open to everyone we ask that during these COVID times, if you can, shower at home so we can minimise the number of people in the changing area.
The teachers will always encourage you to go slow and to take breaks instead of trying to power your way through your first few classes. It can take time to get used to the heat, the breathing and the postures, so give yourself time. With regular practise, you will be surprised how quickly you get used to the heat and how quickly you build strength, stamina and flexibility. Like with anything it is always worthwhile to build a good foundation.
We have an
Introductory Offer
to help you get started: 5 classes for €49. You can also do a drop in class first and then purchase the Intro Offer. Please make sure to sign up online, book into a class and familiarise yourself with our
COVID guidelines. We are currently asking students to arrive to the studio wearing face masks. Please feel free to email us when any questions that you might have before your first class.
